RENTANYTHING RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Agreement Overview

By renting or listing an item on RentAnything.com.au, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. This Rental Agreement is between:

The Renter – the individual renting an item

The Lister (Owner) – the individual or business listing the item

RentAnything Pty Ltd – the platform provider facilitating the transaction

This contract is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

  1. Platform Role

RentAnything acts solely as a facilitator between Renter and Lister. We do not own or maintain any listed items and are not a party to the rental agreement between users.

  1. Item Use & Responsibilities

3.1 Renter Obligations:

Use items safely, responsibly, and for lawful purposes

Return items in the same condition (excluding fair wear and tear)

Notify the Lister immediately of any damage, loss, or safety concerns

Provide identification and be aged 18 or older

3.2 Lister Obligations:

Ensure the item is safe, functional, and accurately described

Provide clean, presentable items

Take and retain clear pre-hire and post-hire photos of the item

Respond to bookings promptly and respectfully

  1. Gear Guarantee (Coverage Summary)

RentAnything offers a limited Gear Guarantee (see full terms) covering up to $500 AUD for loss or damage during a valid booking, subject to conditions:

Pre- and post-hire photos are taken

No breach of this agreement occurred

Claim is submitted within 48 hours of return

The Renter is responsible for a $250 excess on approved claims.

  1. Fees and Payments

5.1 Renter Fees:

Item rental price + 10% platform service fee

5.2 Lister Fees:

10% commission is deducted from the listed item price

Payments are processed securely via Stripe Connect. Funds are held and only released to the Lister after successful item return.

  1. Cancellations & Refunds

Full refund if cancelled by renter 24+ hours before start time

50% refund if cancelled within 24 hours

No refund for no-shows

Listers may cancel only under exceptional circumstances

  1. Prohibited Use

Items must not be:

Used unlawfully or dangerously

Subleased or modified

Used by unauthorised third parties

Used for commercial resale without prior agreement

  1. Disputes

Disputes should be raised via RentAnything support within 48 hours of the booking ending. We will investigate and mediate where possible.

  1. Liability and Indemnity

RentAnything is not liable for:

Loss or damage to personal property

Bodily injury or accidents during use

Items not returned by the renter

Renters and Listers agree to indemnify RentAnything for any claims arising from their use or provision of items.

  1. Privacy

We collect, use, and store your data in accordance with our [Privacy Policy]. By using our platform, you consent to this data use.
