RentAnything Gear Guarantee

Overview
The RentAnything Gear Guarantee is designed to provide confidence to both renters and listers by offering limited coverage for eligible items in the event of damage, loss, or theft during a valid booking.
This is not an insurance policy, but a goodwill protection program administered by RentAnything Pty Ltd to support platform trust and user safety.
What's Covered
Eligible items listed and rented through RentAnything may be covered up to $500 AUD per booking for:
Accidental damage
Theft (with police report)
Irrecoverable loss
Excess
An excess of $250 AUD applies to all approved Gear Guarantee claims. This may be deducted from the renter’s card if the renter is responsible, or offset against the payout to the lister.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for coverage under the Gear Guarantee:
The booking must be made and paid through RentAnything.
The item must be listed with clear, up-to-date photos.
The lister and renter must take timestamped pre- and post-hire photos of the item showing all sides.
The renter and lister must comply with the platform’s Terms of Service.
Any incident must be reported within 48 hours of return (or the scheduled return time if not returned).
What’s Not Covered
Cosmetic wear and tear (scratches, scuffs)
Damage due to misuse or prohibited use
Items not returned because of user dispute or fraud
Pre-existing faults or undocumented condition
Bookings made outside the RentAnything platform
Claims made after 48 hours from scheduled return
Items above the stated value limit
Claim Process
Email support@rentanything.com.au within 48 hours of the incident.
Include:
Booking ID
Description of what happened
Pre- and post-rental photos
Police report (for theft)
Receipts or estimates for repair/replacement
RentAnything will assess the claim within 5 business days.
Approved claims will be reimbursed or covered directly by RentAnything to the maximum value of $500 AUD (minus excess).
Important Notes
RentAnything reserves the right to reject claims that do not meet the eligibility criteria or appear to involve misuse.
This Guarantee is discretionary and may be amended, suspended, or terminated at any time.
It does not replace your obligation to take reasonable care of rented property.
